And you can play video games only seen in Japan which is really cool when you belly up to a machine that has the original pricing of 100 Yen per play. But what makes this place unique and not just another Video Arcade is the attention to detail and the fact that all of the games are in excellent working condition which is a rarity at most places with video games. Now there's many, many more games to chose from. And of course the ubiquitous Street Fighter series video games are always the consummate crowd-pleaser. And let's not forget the room dedicated to network connected PvP games with rumble seats where fans of Call of Duty can congregate to show off their skills. Then there's the Terminator pinball machines which are a lot of fun to play. You have the first person shoot'em ups like House of the Dead killing zombies and the like. You have the classic arcade games for those that grew up playing games like Pac-Man, Robotron, Burgertime and Joust, and there's the rider simulation games like the Sega Wave Runner, Nascar Car Racing and Tsumo Ball which I call the "Red Dome Battleship" artillery game. Now, there's a little bit of something for everyone. ![]() This is a place that will appeal to everyone from video game purists to little kids to big kids to parents with kids and even those that are a kid at heart. And sadly, those places disappeared until now! The "True" Video Arcade experience is back at Arcade Odyssey and does not disappoint. ![]() When I was growing up in Miami there were video arcades all over the place in the late 70's, 80's and into the early 90's from stand alone locations to places in the mall to Pizza Parlors and Laundromats. What a cool arcade!!! This is the one and only "True" Classic/Modern Video Arcade out there that I know of in South Florida. I paid my first visit to Arcade Odyssey yesterday and WOW! was I pleasantly surprised.

![]() Zaris-Angel Hator voices young orphan Maisie Brumble, who stows away on a ship and joins a crew of sturdy sea monster hunters as they search for the elusive Red Bluster. Released on Netflix to very little fanfare – read our review here – this is a terrific animated adventure that deserves to be much more widely seen. With spectacular animation, a witty script and strong comic performances from the likes of Kevin James, Jason Lee and Steve Buscemi (as cranky old Mr Nebbercracker), this is a thoroughly entertaining adventure, heightened by believable, three-dimensional detail in the backgrounds and a handful of exciting, frequently scary set-pieces. Impressively directed and superbly acted, this is complex, consistently fascinating and powerfully emotional.Įxpertly mixing horror and comedy throughout, director Gil Kenan’s spooky animated tale centres on three teenagers who discover that their neighbour’s house is actually a living, breathing monster. However, when she wakes up, all traces of her previous life (including her daughter) have disappeared. ![]() Adriana Ugarte (Julieta) stars as a woman who saves the life of a boy 25 years in the past when a freak storm allows her to communicate with the previous occupant of her house through a video camera. Szewczyk puts in a star-making turn as the lead and there’s terrific support from Dobromir Dymecki as Tosiek’s widowed father, who undergoes his own emotional journey in a moving subplot.Ĭo-written and directed by Oriol Paulo, this superb Spanish mystery-thriller explores one of the key staples of time travel movies – the consequences of messing with the timeline. Director Marta Karwowska gets the tone exactly right, infusing the film with warmth and sensitivity throughout, while the touching script explores compelling LBGTQ+ themes of self-expression and acceptance. Bump it right to the top of your Netflix queue.īased on the novel by Natalia Osinska, this engaging Polish teen movie centres on 17-year-old Toska (trans actor Alin Szewczyk), a fan fiction-obsessed high schooler, whose friendship with charming, secretly gay new student Leon (Jan Cieciara) convinces her to come out as trans and be known as Tosiek. Skilfully structured and superbly directed by British film-maker Bart Layton – who allows Bourdin to narrate his own story – the film exerts a powerfully hypnotic grip and is by turns chilling, shocking and disturbing. However, when dogged private investigator Charlie Parker (a true hero who deserves his own series) looks into the case and proves Frederic can’t possibly be Nicholas, events take a much darker turn. This utterly riveting true crime documentary tells the story of Fredericīourdin, a 23 year-old French-Algerian man who passed himself off as missing blond blue-eyed Texan teenager Nicholas Barclay and was accepted by the boy’s family, despite the fact that he had dark stubble, different coloured eyes and a pronounced French accent. Bloody terrifying, even if you’re not afraid of heights. The gripping script maintains a nail-biting sense of pace and manages to serve up both dark humour and strong emotion alongside genuine terror, while the superb effects work and cinematography ensure an all-too-palpable sense of location and perspective. Director Scott Mann’s vertiginous thriller stars Grace Carloline Currey and Virginia Gardner (both superb) as two daredevil friends who climb to the top of a 2,000ft tower in the middle of the California desert, only to get stranded there when the flimsy ladder falls away. If you think watching a film on a TV, tablet, or some other Netflix-equipped device can’t give you serious dizzy spells, think again. ![]() This list will be updated regularly to reflect new releases and removals. ![]() On December 15, 2022, the Ministers of Justice, Health, and Mental Health and Addictions, announced the Government of Canada's intention to introduce legislation to seek an extension of the temporary exclusion of eligibility for persons suffering solely from mental illness. News release: Canada's new medical assistance in dying (MAID) law (March 17, 2021).The Government is working with provinces and territories and with health care professionals to ensure eligible Canadians are able to request MAID according to the law, and that the appropriate protections are in place. On March 17, 2021, Parliament passed former Bill C-7 to revise eligibility criteria for obtaining MAID and the process of assessment. The changes were also informed by Canada's experience with MAID, feedback from over 300,000 Canadians, experts, practitioners, stakeholders, provinces and territories, provided during the January and February 2020 consultations, and the testimony of over 120 expert witnesses heard throughout former Bill C-7's study by the House of Commons and the Senate. These changes were introduced in response to the Superior Court of Québec's 2019 Truchon decision, in which it found the "reasonable foreseeability of natural death" eligibility criteria in the Criminal Code, as well as the "end-of-life" criterion from Québec's Act Respecting End-of-Life Care, to be unconstitutional. On October 5, 2020, the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada introduced former Bill C-7: An Act to amend the Criminal Code (medical assistance in dying) in Parliament, which proposed changes to Canada's law on medical assistance in dying. In June 2016, the Parliament of Canada passed federal legislation that allows eligible Canadian adults to request medical assistance in dying. The Supreme Court gave the government until June 6, 2016, to create a new law. The parts that prohibited medical assistance in dying would no longer be valid. Canada that parts of the Criminal Code would need to change to satisfy the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. In February 2015, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled in Carter v. In some hospitals they assisted surgeons. Nurses’ duties varied depending on whether they served in hospitals, field hospitals close to the battlefields or on the battlefields after the fighting stopped. If they could read and were very lucky, they might have a copy of the 1837 handbook The Family Nurse to refer to when caring for the sick and elderly at home. For the most part, women learned nursing from their mothers. No previous training was required to be a nurse, because no training programs existed. Nuns from various religious orders also served as nurses, and there were women and men who served as nurse volunteers - just not in an official capacity. The best way that I’ve found to make sure a venison roast (bone-in or out) tender is to cook it in the crockpot or slow cooker on low for 8-9 hours, or until it is falling apart.
